Tui Room (2 – 3 ½ years)

Kia ora parents/whānau

The Tui room for 2 to 3½ year olds offers a warm, nurturing environment in which your child can feel safe, happy and ready to soak up the learning experiences we have to offer.

The relationships we form with you and your child are very important and are the foundation on which we build trust, respect and a thirst for learning.

The learning in the Tui room is connected to these relationships as we get to know your child’s interests and strengths.

We help children in the development of social skills such as sharing and entering play with others. We have a well-being teacher who works with us and is the primary carer in the area of nappy changing and toileting.

The Tui room provides morning and afternoon tea.

The children in the Tui room range in age from 2 to about 3 ½ – 4. Our teaching programme is varied and caters to this diverse age group.

Our teaching programme centres on the individual and is documented in personal profile books.

We offer learning experiences which encourage the exploration of literacy, maths, science, nature, music, art and dramatic play.
